Life has a funny way of always sneaking up on you. You see I am dating a Backstreet boy. I have known him pretty much my whole life. We lived next door to each other since we were five.
"Hey, Eva." He said and I smiled. I was one of the back up singers for female vocals.
"Hey, AJ." I said and he smiled at me and handed me a beer. They had all decided we would go to Applebee's tonight for dinner. Sound check was over and the show was tomorrow night. I sat there drinking my Bud Lite and eating my buffalo wings and some fries. "Thanks, for the beer." I said and kissed his cheek. He smiled at me.
"Anything for the woman in my life." He said and put his arm around me since they were only waiting on me.
"Hey, AJ, we are heading out. Are you guys ready?" Brian asked. He looked at me and back at Brian.
"We are going to stay for a bit and hang out." He said and Brian looked at me and smiled at AJ.
"If you guys need anything give us a call." He was mainly talking to me because he worries about me.
"We will." I said and smiled at him and AJ stole some of my fries. "Hey!" I said and slapped his arm.
"What did I do?" He said all innocent.
"You stole my fries jackass!" I said and drank my beer. He was laughing and he kissed my cheek. I just sat there frozen. I didn't know what to do or think. He turned away and took a few more of my fries. That was the first time he had kissed me.
"So, you want a to go box?" He asked me. I nodded and he got one for me and when I went to pay my bill he looked at me and put my card back in my bag. "Already paid for." He said and I smiled at him and he laughed.
"You know, Alexander James Mclean, you're quite the gentleman." I said and he put his finger to his lips.
"Don't tell anyone." I laughed and he got out of the booth and helped me. He placed his jacket around my shoulders when we got out side and I lit a smoke. He also lit one. He smiled as he walked along with me and placed his arm around me to keep me a little warm. As we were walking he stopped at a Jewlery shop. I turned around.
"What are you doing?" I asked him and he smiled at me.
"Come on." He said and he grabbed my hand.
"AJ this is crazy!" I said. It was eight o'clock and they were getting ready to close. I followed him inside. He looked at me once we got inside and he smiled at me when the jeweler welcomed us inside.
"Hello, thank you for coming into the store this evening what can I help you with today?" AJ smiled and looked at me.
"You see this is my closest friend and I wanted to buy herself something special since today is our twenty year anniversary." I looked at him. I thought he had forgotten.
"Oh AJ!" I said and hugged him and kissed his cheek. "I thought you forgot!" He looked at me and smiled.
"How could I?" He asked. "You were my first friend and I wouldn't give it up for anything!" He said and kissed my cheek again, and went back to looking at the jewlery.
"I will take that ring right there!" He said and he pointed to a diamond ring. The guy looked at us.
"Is it an engagement?" He asked and AJ just smiled at him.
"Just give me the ring." He said and the guy grabbed the ring and handed it to him and he placed it on my finger. "How does it feel?" He asked. The ring was the perfect size. Granted it was on the left ring finger and I looked up at him and smiled. He gave the guy the money and we walked out. He put his arm around me again as I looked at my finger.
"AJ it's amazing! I only got you a new hat!" I said and he looked at me.
"A hat is perfect." He said and kissed me on the lips lightly. I stopped and he smiled at me.
"Wow." I said.
"Yeah." He replied.
