~*Chapter 1*~

"No!"

"Please?!"

"No!"

"Pleeeeaaase?!"

"No!"

"Please Dan?"

"I said no!"

"Why not?" Darren pouted.

"Uhm....I can't." Daniel blushed.

"You...what?!" Darren stared in disbelieve at him. "I said I can't..." Daniel stood up from where he was lying on the bed and wandered into the lounge room, Darren followed him. He sat down on the couch besides Daniel. "You can't ski?" More disbelieve. "Did you never went on winter vacation with your parents?" Daniel shook his head and lit up a cigarette. "Even I can ski..." Darren giggled. That was really surprising...Darren who ran away screaming from any sporting activity that wasn't yoga (if you could call that sport), could actually ski?? Now it was Daniel's turn to look disbelieving. "Well, I think it's time that you learn it!" Darren flashed him a brilliant smile. Daniel snorted, exhaling a cloud of grey-blue smoke. "What makes you think that I even *want* to learn it...?" "Oh come on! It'll be fun!" Darren pleaded. "Besides, it isn't as difficult as you may think. You can do water skiing and normal skiing isn't that different."

Daniel looked at him doubtfully. "Trust me!" Darren said smiling

"Come on Danny!Hurry up!" Darren said impatiently. "Wait a little...God it's fucking freezing!!" Daniel drew his jacket tighter around him. He shouldered the skis he'd rented and stomped, with chattering teeth, after Darren.

"Ok, I think that's the right place" Darren stopped on a little flat hill. He put down his skis and looked around, satisfied. Daniel dropped his skis besides Darrens and again uttered a curse because of the cold.

"Ok. Now stretch a little to warm up your muscles." Daniel made an unwilling noise, but began to do as he was told. He knew it was no use to complain. He'd whined the whole drive to the skiing area but Darren hadn't been very impressed.

Warmed up and ready, they began to put on their skis. "Now...let's start like this..." Darren began to show Daniel how to actually keep his balance, and then they slowly made their way down the skirun.

A few crashes, curses and much laughter, from Darren, later (in normal time two hours), they stood at the foot of the hill. Well, Darren stood, Daniel sat panting beside him in the snow.

"Not ...difficult?!" he glared up at him.

"You'll see, if you know how it works, you'll learn very fast" Darren smiled gleefully. Daniel groaned and roled his eyes. "Right now, I just want to go somewhere warm and dry."

"But Dan! It's only been two hours..." Darren protested. "I know..." Daniel tried to stand up, failed and landed for the 10 000th time in the last two hours on his butt "...but it's very exhausting, you know? I mean *you* can ski..."

"Ok, ok...let's take a break" Darren put his skis away.

"Uhm, ...Daz?"

"Yeah?" he looked over his shoulder at Daniel, who was still sitting in the snow. "Could you please help me to stand up?" Darren looked at him with a soft smile. He looked so cute, sitting there in the snow with wind-tousled hair, c heeks reddened from the cold and those bright green eyes pleading him for help.

Darren walked over to him and Daniel took the offered hands. Darren tried to pull him up but as he was half standing Daniel felt the skis slide away. He clung to Darrens arms for dear life and with a startled yelp they both fell to the ground into the fine snow.

As Daniel opened his eyes again he looked straight into Darrens clear blue ones.

Warm breath hit his face and he realized how close they where.

Darren looked down and directly into Daniels eyes. He straightened up a little and brushed a few strands of his chin length black hair behind his ears and blushed as he realized the suggestive position they where in.

Daniel lay in the snow, propped up on his ellbows, his knees slightly bend because of the skis, darren atop of him straddling his waist.

"God Darren!" A teasing gleam appeared in Daniels eyes. "What did you have for breakfast? Bricks?" Darren looked at him dumbstruck, which caused the blond man underneath him to laugh. Darren glared at him, but Daniel just laughed harder. Pouting he climbed off of Daniel but not without pushing him hard into the stomache. The guitarist groaned through giggles.

"That's what you get for joking 'bout my weight." Darren began to make his way over to the ski hut. "Hey!! What about me?!" Daniel called out after his bandmate.

Darren grinned mischievously. "Well, I'll see you inside Danny-boy..." With that he dissapeared through the door, laughing softly as he heared Daniel swearing behind him.
