The girl looked at her friend, in disbelief.
"Haven't you heard?" she repeated.
"Heard what?" the friend said.
"They broke up. There isn't gonna be a new cd," she said, tears in her eyes.
"Don't fuck with me," the friend said.
"Look," she said, slamming the newspaper down on the table in frony of her friend.
Somewhere in another country, Daniel Jones paced back and forth outside the tour bus. Ben and Lee walked over hand in hand, and made to get on the bus. Daniel stopped them.
"Haven't you heard?" he asked anger very evident in his voice and on his face.
"Heard what?" Ben ask.
"There's no need to get on the bus," he said, trying to suppress his anger.
"Why not?" Lee asked.
"This is why!" He shouted, no longer trying to hide the fact that he was livid beyond all reason as he threw the newpaper into their faces.
"Oh my God," Lee said in disbelief as the headline 'Australia's Top Pop Group is No More, an Exclusive Interview With Darren Hayes, the Band's Sensational Singer'.
"And this!" Daniel shouted again as he threw another paper at the flabbergasted couple. The headline read 'Savage Garden, a Pop Legend Calls it Quits'. "There are many more," he shouted.
"Uh, that won't be necessary," Ben said, still incredulous.
"I assume that by your reaction you didn't know about this either," Daniel said, his tone softening.
"No, Mate," Lee said, almost inaudibly. Darren didn't show up that day, and it didn't take a genius to figure out why. it was a terrible dsy, and the band moped fore the remainder.
