The Heartless
Lying To Live
A/N: This one might sound kinda like "The One I Love", but I'm writing it myself. Sorry that it sucks hardcore. Oh and this is fiction and I don't own anything. :X
Chapter One: Lying to Live
Ville Valo yawned slightly as he sat back into his chair. He felt arms wrap around his shoulders and he tried to hide a frown.
"Viiilllleee!" a high pitched girl's voice rung out in his ear. "Hi, hun, what's up?"
"Nothing, really Jonna. Really."
"Is something wrong?" she asked, with concern in her voice.
"No, no. I'm just tired really." he turned to look at her and cringed.
"Ville, did something happen to your eye?"
"Yeah." he laughed at himself. "You know how I have to duck under that one doorway in the apartment building? I ran into it with my face."
"Oh ... silly you." She kissed him on the cheek. "I'll talk to you tommorow, kay? Have a good night!"
"Yup." he smiled, gently for her as she walked away.
He held a hand to his eye. It still throbbed with pain. 'Doorway, my ass.' he thought to himself. He watched Jonna get her coat on and wave as she walked out the door. There she went. His "fiancée", right? Far from it. Jonna had a boyfriend on the other side of town that he knew about. Jonna knew Ville was gay. She was just his cover for the media. Why he went to such great lengths to hide everything was just so fucking stupid. But people could easily talk him into things ... and ugh. It's just the way it was. Nobody even had a clue what the truth was. No one even knew about him ...
Ville knocked gently on the door to his apartment before he walked in.
"Jari?" he called out.
"I'm in the kitchen, love."
"Hey, hun, how was your day?"
"Good, really." Jari leaned over to give Ville a kiss as he walked into the room. Jari gently rubbed the bruise on Ville's eye. "You okay?" he asked quietly.
"Yeah, fine." he cringed as Jari ran his hands over a tender spot.
"Sorry." Jari frowned and kissed Ville's forehead.
"What are you making?"
"Mmm ... salmon soup ... at least I'm trying to make salmon soup. I don't think it's turning out so good, really."
Ville tasted it and made a face. "Well ..."
Jari sighed. "That bad?"
Ville laughed. "No, it tastes fine. You're a good cook."
Jari hugged Ville gently. "Thanks. It will be done in a few minutes."
Ville sat down on the sofa in the living room and sighed in relief. At least today was going to be alright.
