There's Always Room For...
"I can't believe you actually did this."
"What? What's wrong with it? Don't you like it?"
"It's not that Darren, it's just....wow. I've never seen anything like this in my life!" Daniel grinned suddenly as he surveyed his surroundings. He was standing beside the rather large swimming pool that Darren had in his "new" home in San Fransisco. That itself wouldn't be such a strange thing, except Darren had *just* (as in within the last hour) made a rather startling change to his backyard scene. Namely concerning that pool. Or rather it's water. Which was now green.
And no longer water. It was Lime Jello.
Darren grinned back at Daniel and leaned over carefully on the pool's cement edge, reaching out slowly to gently poke the shiny surface with a finger. It trembled slightly, a minature ripple that passed through the whole pool.
"How is it not melting in this heat, Daz?" Daniel said curiously as he watched the moving jello.
"The pool is insulated rather well, remember?"
Daniel whistled appreciatively of Darren's cleverness as he walked around the whole pool, intrigued by the sheer unique look of the bright green jello laying so thick and clear in it's huge mold.
"So, what do you plan to do with it?"
"You know what? I never really thought about it! It just seemed like a good idea...." Darren replied, showing the idea to probably have been a totally rash whim, very Darren-like "And we surely can't eat it all....What do *you* suppose we should do with it?"
Daniel's eyes, sparkling green that almost matched the dessert, got a sly expression on his face.
"Oh, i do have *one* idea...."
Darren blinked at him "What's your idea?"
Pausing for dramatic effect (normally a Darren tactic), Daniel looked off towards the grey-blue ocean, avoiding the tiny grey-blue oceans of Darren's inquisitive gaze.
"Wellllll..." he drawled "We could always take a dip in it, seeing that it's such a hot day. Might cool us off real nice."
Darren's eyes widened and for a moment Daniel was sure he'd refuse. Then the singer smiled that huge dazzler of his.
"Why didn't *I* think of that??"
Daniel chuckled, his low laugh floating easily in the humid air.
"Don't ask me. I thought you were so smart, thinking up this huge dessert-instead-of-chlorine idea"
Darren stuck out his tongue for a moment at Daniel, then quickly sauntered towards the backdoor of his house.
"Let's meet back here in five minutes, trunks on, ok?" he called out as he opened the screendoor. Daniel nodded, then paused.
"Um Daz? ....I didn't bring anything to swim in."
Darren also paused, considering. A wicked grin spread over his face, as he placed a finger on his stubbly cheek, a gesture mocking deep thinking.
"Hmmmmmm...perhaps you could skinny-dip it?"
Daniel considered the pool. Considered Darren. Considered Darren's *behavior*, to be accurate.
"Eh, mate, I don't think so. I don't trust you to control your mischivous urges!" Daniel shot back, laughing. Darren pretended to be hurt, a fake pout on his soft lips.
"Fine then, but I get the Star Wars trunks!" and with that, ren ren flounced back into the house.
