Chapter 10

I really was trying but she wasn't making things easy for me. Every time I looked her way she was doing something cute making me fall even more for her. We had only been in the car for a few minutes and I was already panicking.

'So you like to sing?........'When I panic I say stupid things, and most often and not there are people around the hear them.

'It's all I've ever wanted to do..........'

'Well your good at it.............' One little nice comment wouldn't hurt anyone and I was telling the truth she was good at singing.

'Sometimes I just think I'm pretending to know what I'm doing............And really I'm just as clueless as can be............' She looked up at me shyly like she hadn't meant to say that to me.

'I still feel like that and it's been a few years now...........' I knew I was crossing a line with her, having her in my car was one thing but sharing deep dark secrets was something completely different. 'I still have days when I feel like I shouldn't be around all these great people...........It's even worse now that I'm a judge.......I feel like someone's going to come up to be and tell me I shouldn't be doing it.....that I don't know what I'm talking about...................' By the look on her face she really wasn't expecting me to come out with all that.

'Are you serious I mean your Kelly Clarkson.........your the reason we're all here...........If it wasn't for you none of us would have a chance............' I knew she talking but all I could do was watch her lips, the words were coming out but the way her lips moved caused everything to spin around me. Luckily we were stopped at a light or I would have crashed into the nearest hedge.

'Yea...well thanks........'God I was pathetic at this. Thank god she was straight or I would already be a puddle at her feet.

'Your welcome......'She was laughing. I had steer her away from that.

'So your from a small town?...............' That usually got girls talking for a good hour.

'Very........like one stop sign small........'

'Oh god that's bad.......la must be crazy for you..........'

'Completely I've never mixed with so many different people before...........God I even saw two guys kissing Yesterday.................' Well that just answered every question I really wanted to ask her in the one go.

'Really......' I had no idea where that fake laugh came from, but I was trying to act cool. I could see by the look on her face that she had never experienced anything to do with the gay lifestyle.

'Yea.......i couldn't believe my eyes........'

'But weren't you in collage........did you see that?........'

'Oh god no.....i mean those sort of things only every really happen on TV.........I'm really not comfortable with pda...............'

'Yea but if two people love each other.............' I was really starting to sound like my mother now.

'I guess I was just raised to believe that it's not the right way to be..........................' I was stunned, not once in my still little day dreams did this conversation ever come up.

'I guessed I was raised to believe that you can't help who you fall in love with.............'

'So your OK with it?........I mean it's OK to see it?........' See it, live it ,do it, I was pretty much OK with it all.

'I guess......i mean this is la and this business has a lot of gay people.......i mean a lot.........' I could see her hotel in the distance and I was thankful for it. I really didn't think I could sit and have this conversation with her any longer.

'I'll just have to watch what I'm doing........'

'You can't catch it.......' I had to laugh, this girl had no clue. 'You've probably known quite a few gay people and you haven't even realized it...........'

'Oh I think I could tell......' I pulled to a stop outside the front entrance.

'You can tell if someones gay?..........' I knew doing what I was about to do was wrong, but I couldn't sit back and let her believe her stupid ways.

'Oh yea......it's very clear........'

'So if I was gay you could tell?.........' She looked me over once.

'Your not gay......' She let out a nervous laugh. 'Are you?........' Nows the time to laugh and say I was joking but I knew my mouth wouldn't let me do that.

'Yes Carrie....I'm gay........' I could almost hear her head explode as her face turned a bright shade of red. He just sat there in front of me with this look of fear on her face like I was about to turn her too. 'You can go if you want........'

'Right.....i should.....tomorrows a long day..........' She pulled pushed at her belt till it sprung back almost hitting her in the face. 'Thanks for the ride...........' She was out the door and running up the path before I could say your welcome. I waited till she disappeared inside the hotel before I moved away. Well that fixed my little crush, she would stay away from me now. Ashley would be pleased even if it felt like my heart shattered just a little.
