"Carrie I told you to leave it, I told you not to come looking for Nathan.... god why doesn't anyone listen to me."The young Texan stood in the middle of the bus all eyes on her but her eyes were only on Carrie as the country star stood staring deeply into her eyes pleading with her .She had seen the way Jason looked at her when she walked over to them. She knew he knew all about her and Carrie. If he knew then it was only a matter of time before her mother found out then all hell would break loose. She couldn't stand having her mother hate her,she knew Jason would tell her he would never accept this. She looked towards Ashley.



"Kel what's going on..?"Ashley was standing in front of Kelly blocking Carries view of her."What's Nathan done?"



"Nathan hasn't done anything......look can everyone leave I need to talk to Nathan alone."



"No Kelly I will NOT leave you alone with him"Carrie was now between Kelly and Ashley."I don't trust him with you.....I wont leave!"Carrie stood in front of her arms folded like a spoiled child. If everything wasn't so serious at the moment Kelly might have laughed at the sight.



"Carrie you will leave...all of you will.... Jason take Carrie and Ashley for a drink."Jason and Ashley made their way to the door of the bus but Carrie stood still."Carrie leave me alone"Kelly's voice was laced with anger now.



"Kelly please....tell him to leave....I know what your thinking..... but don't do it OK?"



"How the hell do you know what im thinking.."



"Cause I know you better than anyone on this bus....."



"You know nothing OK.... look I was upset before..... you caught be at a weak moment....Carrie just leave OK"Kelly whispered the last part out hoping the country star would give in. Carrie looked past Kelly towards Nathan who hadn't said a word since all this started.



"This what you want?"Carrie asked as she pointed towards Nathan.



"yes..."Kelly could feel the tears stinging her eyes, she couldn't believe she was saying all this.

Carrie didn't wait to hear anything else she pushed passed Kelly and got out of the bus as quick as possible,she knew deep down that the words Kelly was saying weren't true but it didn't make them hurt any less. She knew she had to get far away from the young Texan so she caught a cab into town towards the local bar she saw on her way towards the hotel. Carrie knew this wouldn't help matters, she had promised Kelly she would keep herself together for this tour but the tour was the last thing on her mind. She needed a drink, needed to end this deep hurt that was burning the inside of her at the moment.

"You OK now kel?"



"Yeah Jason I am" Kelly had yet to take her eyes off the bus door, after seeing Carrie walk out she knew she had made a big mistake but running after her would only cause Jason and Ashley to question her. She needed them to think that her and Carrie where nothing but friends. Even if in her heart she could never be friends with the country singer, she needed more than that from her but that was something she couldn't get. This left Kelly alone on a bus with her brother best friend and Nathan, god knows what he was to her now. She had somehow picked him over Carrie all cause she didn't want to be judged by her brother. She knew Ashley would understand her even if she didn't agree with her but Jason was so like her mother she knew he would be angry with her and that reason alone was why she had let Carrie walk out her life again.



"Kelly you still want us to go?"Ashley's calm voice brought Kelly back to them.



"Eh..... no no... lets all just go get the rest of the band they're probably waiting for us."Nathan let Jason and Ashley off first brushing past Kelly as she collected her things.



"Kelly im so sorry...."



"Lets forget it Nate......Its not going to happen again.....right?"



"It wont.....i promise"



"Ok......You can buy the first round"He smiled,thank god he thought.he was sure he had blown his chances with the Texan.

Carrie had been alone at the bar for about 3 seconds before the first guy came up to ask her for a dance,she was polite at first but after an hour of what felt every guy in the bar hitting on her she was starting to weaken. She was now letting them buy her a drink before telling them where to go. The latest was now buying her a third vodka and telling her how she looked so like someone he knew but couldn't remember who. She and Kelly used to joke about it whenever they would be brave enough to sneak out together someone always thought they knew them but would never realise they were talking to two American idol winners. Carrie would sit back laughing as guys would ask if they went to high school together or grew up on the same street, Kelly always agreed with them and ended up making jokes about teachers she was supposed to be taught by. No one ever caught her out she was so sweet no one would question her.



"so how about it?" Carrie was dragged out her day dream by the blonde man sitting next to her.



"I'm sorry what?"



"Lets get out of here, the music's getting to loud,my cars in the car park."Carrie agreed the music was getting to loud but going somewhere with him wasn't what she wanted.



"ill drive you home."he was now pressing his mouth over her ear as he tried to get her to leave.



"I need another drink.......would you get me it?"



"Sure...."hopefully that would get the idea out of his head. She watched him disappear towards the bar suddenly wishing he was sitting next to her again she was feeling so alone she hated being left with her own mind for company.

Nathan stood at the bar with a few other crew members as he watched Kelly teach her band how to dance. She was masking her hurt the only way she knew how, ignoring it until it was so deep inside her it wouldn't come out till a new song needed writing. Nathan watched her brush up against the drummer again,he hadn't learnt any of their names even though he had been around them for days now. He wasn't really interested in them his full focus was purely on the Texan.



"So man what was the trouble on the bus earlier"Nathan turned towards Jake a new crew member on the tour, Kelly had invited him early so he could get to know everyone. she hated not including everyone so whenever someone new came on board they got the Kelly Clarkson welcome party, this was Jakes.



"Misunderstanding......."



"Heard the Underwood chick went off on you" Nathan laughed.



"Yeah guess little miss Underwood has a thing for our Kelly.....got a little jealous when she realised Kelly was with me."



"Serious...... you an the boss getting it on" Nathan smirked towards Jake before turning back to Kelly watching her now dance with Ashley.



"Na....... not had anything on or off yet.......boss lady's a bit of a tease... ill get there though,they way she's throwing back those drinks it might come faster than I thought" both Nathan and Jake laughed before grabbing another round of drinks for the group.
