The Heartless
Falling Into The Shadows
A/N: Sorry I haven't been writing. I went on a mini-vacation and I had some personal issues when I returned. I'm probably still going to be slow ... but enjoy the update.
Chapter Two: Falling Into The Shadows
Ville awoke the next morning in Jari's arms. He sighed and rolled away from him and curled up into a ball. His chest hurt. Each morning, it was actually painful to wake up next to him. He thought he was in love, he thought this was supposed to be his soulmate. How can you love someone and be afraid of them? ... Ville couldn't even answer himself. He would just have to go on living this way until ... until something happened. Until anything happened. Jari was the kind of person that made you feel like you needed him. Made you feel like you couldn't live without him. Ville choked back tears. He knew he couldn't live without Jari. It would be impossible ... so life would continue down this twisted path. And he saw no nice end to it.
His cell phone rang and he dashed off to answer it before it woke up Jari. The Daniel Lioneye ringtone blared out at him.
"Hi Linde ..." he said sleepily when he answered, taking a seat on the rug and yawning.
"Hey Ville ... I just wondering what you were doing today."
"Oh ... I don't know yet." He glanced over at Jari, who was still sleeping.
"Well me and the rest of the guys were wondering if you wanted to come hang out with us today."
"Uh ..."
"Please come, Ville." Linde asked, softly. "We haven't seen you outside of band stuff in forever."
"...Okay, Linde."
They finished making plans and Ville grabbed some clothes. He left Jari a note and dashed out the door.
Ville was thrilled to be spending time with his friends again. He could breathe easy. It was good to get out of the house. They drank and talked and ate and joked around. It was nice to laugh again. Really laugh. Really smile. Not fake them. But Ville should have known it was too good to be true. The apartment was dark when he got home.
"Jari?" Ville asked quietly to the darkness. He suddendly got a feeling of dread and then pain. Jari punched him across the jaw and ran into him, knocking him to the floor.
"Don't leave me alone."
"Jari ..." Ville bit his lip as he curled up in a ball.
Jari's voice shook as he spoke. "I never said you could go out."
"C'mon Jari, it was just with the guys." Ville sat up and rubbed his cheek.
"The what?"
"My bandmates."
Jari tilted his head. "Well ... okay."
Ville bit his lip harder as Jari got up to turn on a few lights. His boyfriend's mood swings were tearing him apart. Everything was horrible and now suddendly it was okay? Jari came back over and pulled Ville to his feet.
"Didn't you see my note?"
"Note?"
"Yeah. It was by the bed."
"Oh, no. Honey, I'm sorry. I completely missed it. Oh my god. I'm so sorry. Can you forgive me?" Jari had a genuine look of regret in his eyes and Ville melted inside. How could he not forgive Jari?
"Of course, my love. Now let's just get something to eat, okay?"
"Yes. I made you something wonderful, again."
"I know. You're wonderful ..." Ville faked a smile for Jari. Inside he was crying. Would this pain and confusion ever end?
[The next morning ... a little after eleven am]
Bam Margera gently knocked on the door of an apartment, but no one answered. He knocked harder but still no response. He checked the address he had scrawled on a ripped peice of paper. Yeah, this was the right place. He knocked a few more times and gave up. The door was unlocked. He crept in and shut it behind him softly. There was no one in the living room or the kitchen. He spotted a door to another room and walked over and opened it.
Ville opened his eyes and looked up into the face of one of the most gorgeous skateboarders to ever walk the face of the earth.
"B-B-Bam?!" he whispered.
