Baby Can I Hold You

And Grandma said it wasn't allowed but you said sure so we did.......And Grandma was right......you really shouldn't drink milkshake then spin round really really fast......It took Uncle Jason hours to get the sick out the grass' Elle raced through her words as fast as she could causing Kelly to laugh. She had asked Elle to tell her some fun stories hoping it would spring some sort of memory.



'So you like Grandma?......She's good to you?' Kelly knew the answer already but she didn't want her daughter to stop talking.



'Yeah.....but she says I get away with you too much.' Kelly knew that was right too, Jeanne had never been one to let her kids run free Kelly knew she wouldn't let her grand kids away with much either.



'And what about Auntie Carrie........Is she around a lot.... I mean does she visit us?' Kelly knew she shouldn't be getting information out of a four year old.



'Yep......she stays sometimes...' Elle remembered back to the time she shared a bed with her Auntie Carrie and mommy. ' Sometimes you and her share the bed but other times we have sleep overs and I get to share the bed too.' Kelly nodded but didn't say anything. Carrie had never said anything about that to her. She didn't know that they had shared a bed before, that had to mean there was something more there before. Kelly just couldn't understand why Carrie hadn't said anything about her visits.



'And you like Auntie Carrie being with us.....You like us staying here with her?' Kelly knew if she was to go forward with a relationship with Carrie she really should make sure Elle was OK with it.



'Yep......I really love Auntie Carrie.......Do you mommy?' Elle sat looking up at her mother waiting for her answer.



'Sure baby......It's hard not to.' Elle nodded. ' I just wanted to know what you felt.'



'You want to know if I'm happy with us being a family?' Kelly was amazed by her daughters grown up thinking.



'Well yeah...guess I do....what do you think about us being a family?' Elle sat back putting on her best thinking face, even tapping her finger on her chin for affect.



' I'd love that........But does that mean she's not going to be my Auntie Carrie any more?'



'What do you mean?' Kelly watched Elle sit up.



'I mean she'll be my other mommy.....not my Auntie Carrie any more.' Kelly sat up so she was face to face with Elle.



'Well hadn't thought of that....I mean what do you think of that?' Kelly said worriedly.



'I think it's great.' Kelly breathed a sigh of relief. ' I love Auntie Carrie and Auntie Carrie loves me.....She loves me more than daddy.....And she loves you more than daddy.' Kelly hadn't heard Elle talk about her father before.



'Do you miss daddy?' Kelly knew Carrie said he wasn't around but Elle seemed to know who he was.



'Nope.' She shook her little head fast. ' I think it's better we stay with Auntie Carrie.' Kelly smiled as she watched her daughter get up and walk out the room. She knew she should have questioned Carrie about these things before asking her daughter but she really didn't want to get into anything before knowing her daughter would be OK with it. If Elle wasn't happy Kelly knew she couldn't start a relationship with Carrie, but now knowing that Elle was OK with it Kelly felt a little more relaxed about where her future would be.
