The Secrets Between us

"So should we order some wine before dinner."Jeanne and Carrie made themselves comfortable at the back of a small restaurant.



"I'll just have some water thanks."Carrie shifted her eyes away from Jeanne.



"You wont join me in some wine?"



"well when Kelly and I broke up I had been drinking a bit to much I don't think starting again would be a good idea."Carrie thought it would be better being upfront with Kelly mom, no point adding more secrets to the mix.



"well dear I'll join you in some water, no point upsetting my daughter....... I really wouldn't be trusted alone with you again if I bring you back drunk."Carrie nodded.



"You really OK with us Jeanne or is this just pretend to be nice for Kelly's sake."Carrie really didn't want to start things with Jeanne but she wanted to know where she stood with the older woman.



"im far from OK with this dear but as I said before, me telling Kelly to leave you wouldn't work. Even if my daughter did leave you i know it would only make her unhappy.....so i've only got one thing i can really do........"



"that would be?"



"to accept you both and hope that the world can accept you too.........listen Carrie my problem isn't that my daughter is in love with a woman, I may not be very cool but I can accept that these things happen. It may not have happened in my day but I accept times have changed......what does worry me is what others will say......I don't want to see my baby or you get hurt.......you seem like a sweet girl I don't want you to have to suffer."



"I don't want that either Jeanne.........it would kill me if Kelly would have to go through that."



"well shes survived the first thing.... telling her mother,I think that was probably the hardest for her........what about your mother dear, does she know."



"oh god no.......well I mean she knows I'm friends with Kelly but nothing about anything else........"



"my advice dear would be to tell her next.....and your father, Kelly will have to do that too......its best if they hear it from you and not some newspaper."



"when she kills me it will be in the paper anyway."Carrie slumped back into her Chair.



"my my you and my daughter really are suited....both have that dramatic nature..."



"my mother just isn't as cool as you are Jeanne... this will be hard for her."



"oh honey im not cool....when I saw you in bed with my daughter I just wanted to drag you out with the hair .........but well things change........your mother may scream shout call you names and tell you to get out her house but in the end she will accept.....its the only thing we can do."



"Hope your right......"



"Now lets talk about something a little more happier........Kelly says that your both here for some meetings Clive set up, hows its going."Carrie had to let out a laugh.



"probably not something happy there Jeanne.......look I may as well be honest......I told you I was drinking to much... the reason for that was that Clive found out about me and Kelly and used this to break us up.......he's the reason for the break up and well the make up...... I mean he told me that if I kept seeing Kelly it would ruin her career and her family..... he said that her family didn't care about her but only her money.....and well I stupidly believed him."



"are you telling me he blackmailed you and lied about my family.....that what your saying dear?"Carrie suddenly seen the older woman's angry side, she was hoping to avoid that."well you leave him to me....he will leave you alone from now on."



"I always knew mothers had some kind of power in this world....very cool to see."Jeanne laughed at Carrie.



"well I use my power for good.........Now your here for a week then its on to new York for some press and things....what happens after that."



"then its 3 weeks off until we start our rehearsals....its going to be so hard but hopefully we can do fun things those 3 weeks."



"how about coming to my house......all Kelly's family will be there....it will be great for you to meet them all."Carrie knew Jeanne was trying to be helpful but meeting all the family at the same time would freak Carrie out, plus Kelly really wouldn't like it.



"I really don't know if that's a good idea Jeanne its just....."



"well talk it over with Kelly and give me an answer.....but you should probably know that I don't take no for an answer.......now lets order so you can get back to my daughter, im sure she's missing you already."

Kelly lay back on her bed after Carrie and her mother left, she really didn't want to face anyone she just wanted Carrie back with her. Sure she was happy her mother had taken a liking to Carrie but leaving her alone really wasn't a good idea, to many thoughts running through her head it could get dangerous. Picking up her phone she pressed a few buttons hoping to find what she was looking for.



"hey ash."



"Kelly you OK."Ashley sat up from the bed she was in with Jason.looking over at him she seen he was fast asleep.



"want to come down to the bus.....I really need to talk to you."



"eh...sure kel...ill be right there."shutting off her phone she pulled herself out of Jasons arms to put her clothes on.she didn't want him knowing where she was going.



Kelly heard the bus door open knowing it was Ashley she shouted her throw.



"you wanted me Kelly."



"wow you said that like I was firing you or something......what's wrong."A part of her did think Kelly was bringing her down to fire her. She had thought Jeanne was going to tell Kelly everything.



"just tired.....you seen Jeanne?"



"oh yeah I saw her.....and she saw me and Carrie in bed together."Ashley wanted to say snap but kept her mouth shut. looking around the bus she saw no sign of Carrie or Jeanne.



"so did she kill Carrie and is now hiding the body..."



"ha ha ash.....actually my lovely girlfriend and wonderful mother are out having dinner."it warmed Ashley to see Kelly like this.



"so shes giving her a last meal before she kills her.....very nice."



"shut up and get in bed....."Kelly pulled the covers back letting Ashley in. Ashley wondered why Jeanne had been so accepting to Kelly and Carrie and not to her and Jason. she knew Jeanne loved her but why be so made about dating her son.



"so it went OK then.... no name calling and crying?"



"nothing like that...mom told me she loved me....said alot of other really nice things and took Carrie out......ash it couldn't have gone better.......now if I wasn't so mad at Jason I might actually thank him......where is he anyway."



"sleeping I think......haven't seen him since he told me he called your mom......Kelly I really don't think he was trying to be cruel hes just worried about you."



"don't ash...don't' stick up for him.......he went running to mommy when he didn't like something i did......he's in the wrong here don't take his side please."



"im not on anyones side i just want everyone to get along....."Ashley lay back on the bed,she hated lying to Kelly about all this.

Carrie and Jeanne had finished dinner before heading back to the hotel. Carrie had given Jeanne here room telling her she would bunk with a friend. Jeanne knew that meant Kelly but didn't want to embarrass the young blonde by letting her know that. After making sure Jeanne was settled in OK Carrie made her way to the bus hoping the young Texan was still awake. Most of the band were still in the bar so she knew she would get peace to make her way towards the bedroom with any weird looks. Sliding the bedroom door open Carrie was meet with a pair of eyes she didn't expect.



"Am I being replaced?"Carrie really didn't like the sight of there girlfriend in bed with her friend,sure she knew nothing was between them but still she didn't need to see it. She looked over to a sleeping Kelly..



"she wanted company till you got back........wanna swap places?"Ashley was being far more nicer than she thought she could be.



"yeah."letting Ashley leave the room Carrie stripped off her clothes seeing that Kelly was already in her underwear. Slipping under the covers Kelly body must have known it was Carrie. wrapping her arm and leg around the young blonde Kelly snuggled her head into Carrie's neck.



"mmmmmm everything ok car?"



"yeah baby..... it went great......"Kelly was to tried to answer her again,instead she left a few small kisses on carrie's neck before falling into a sleep.
