Aftermath
The shooting ceased and all accessories were arrested, including the clients that Dante was doing business with. Some officers were injured but no fatalities, much to the departments liking. Cross exits the alleyway, all the cops around the area spot him and tell him not to move. Sean reassures them it's OK and for them to put down their weapons. Sean moves closer to Cross with a blank stare. He knows Dante is dead and he deserved it.
"I have to take you in Cross" Sean pulls out his handcuffs.
"I know" without protest Cross turns around with his hands behind his back and Sean cuffs him while reading his rights. Cross looks over to where Naomi and Athena stand. Athena's covered in a blanket still shaking, she gives him a warm smile and Cross nods also smiling at her. Naomi notices the exchange and turns to Athena.
"So it's true." Athena turns to look at her, giving her best "˜I don't know what you talking about' look. "The day Cross chased us, he wasn't trying to kill you, he was trying to take you away with him. Wasn't he" Naomi realizes, Athena looks down to the floor and nods ~ no point in lying anymore.
"Yes it's true. Cross and I fell in love along the line. He respects me, loves me more than anyone has ever loved me. And when he gets out we're getting married." Her eyes wonder back to Cross, who he is now being put into a squad car by Sean. Naomi knows Cross will get out on self defense charges, being in the mob always has it's perks. Demetri comes running to Naomi, he grabs her and swings her in the air, she starts giggling and telling him to let her go.
"We did it Vega! We got the bad guys! It's over baby yeah!" his enthusiasm is mainly because they'll finally be able to live a normal life again. Demetri and Naomi walk to the squad car.
"Thanks for saving my life" Sean says.
"That's what partners do. I told you I had your back" Naomi smiles and leans on the car pulling off her wig, letting her red hair flow down her shoulders.
"You know I lied to you" Sean admits. Naomi looks surprised at his confession.
"About what?" she asks confused.
"You look better as a red head," he says taking a strand of her hair in his hand. Shyly she smiles and feels her face flush.
"Hey you two, come on we gotta go" Demetri interrupts.
"Now its time for the fun part" Sean says raising his eyebrows. They both say in unity "Paperwork" Sean puts his arms around her and they walk off together.
