Chapter 25
'God Carrie this is amazing.....' Kelly got out the car stretching her legs as she looked towards the large house. 'I've never seen anything so big before.' Kelly looked back towards the locked gate.
'Yeah, that's the reason I bought it........then I quickly realised I lived alone.......Pretty stupid huh?' Carrie helped Elle out of the car.
'Not any more....you got us now.....All the toys I got can fill this house up.' Elle stood by her mother hands on hips looking up at the house.
'I'm sure they can baby........maybe a few animals could help too.........There's horses round back.' before Carrie could finish talking Elle was off running towards the house.
'She's officially never leaving now.....you know how many times she begged for a horse?'
'A few?.......Yeah yeah OK.....I might have made a few calls and bought some horses before we got here.....I just wanted her to feel at home. ' Kelly made her way towards Carrie slipping her arm round her waist.
'Well that's very sweet of you..' Carrie shrugged she really didn't see what the big deal was, Elle was a good kid she deserved to be spoiled.
'Well we could stand here all day talking about how great I am or we could go and check out our new home' She didn't have to ask Kelly twice.
After a short tour of the house and a long tour of the horses the three of them found themselves laying together in the main bedroom. Carrie was exhausted from the long drive and all she wanted to do was sleep but Kelly had other plans. She wanted their first night in their new home to be one to remember, she wanted a home cooked meal to celebrate. This meant two things for Carrie, one she would have to drive back into town and buy some food and two she would have to come home and cook it. They had learnt a long time ago that Kelly in the kitchen really wasn't a good idea, her idea of cooking was opening a tin and praying she didn't burn whatever was inside of it.
After some begging just to call take out Carrie had gave in and agreed to go into town while Kelly unpacked.
'But I don't understand why we can't' Elle complained as Carrie put her into her car seat.
'I've told you Elle...we can't ride the horses into town.'
'But that's what they're there for......what's the point if we can't ride them.' Elle let out a big sign.
'Sure we can ride them......just not to the store.....people might look' Carrie got into the drivers seat.
'But your Carrie Underwood....people already look at you anyway........Maybe if you had horse they wouldn't notice you...they'd be to busy with the horse......Horses are pretty.'
'OK well I don't know if you insulted me there or not but lets just accept we are going to the store in a car' Elle gave up but she knew one day she would go to the store on her horse, Carrie couldn't say no forever.
The store wasn't to crowded, luckily no one had noticed Carrie yet. She didn't really want someone calling a magazine and giving away where they were so soon. Call her selfish but she wanted Kelly and Elle to herself for as long as possible. Elle had taken charge of what they would eat that night, thankfully it was something easy to cook and Carrie would be in bed in no time.
'So can I name the horses....any name I want?' Elle sat in the back seat watching the trees go by.
'Yeah baby...any name you want...just don't be to cruel with them give them a cool name' Carrie watched Elle in the mirror as they pulled up to the house. Kelly was standing at the front door, her bags at her feet. 'Thought you were unpacking?' Carrie called from the car.
'Elle don't get out...stay in your seat.' Kelly shouted to her daughter, she sounded scared.
'Kelly?.....Kelly what's wrong?' Carrie made her way out the car. 'Kelly are you crying?'
'Don't.' Kelly put her hands out in front of her stopping Carrie coming any closer.' Just don't.......just give me the car keys and let us go.'
'What?.....Kelly what's going on.?' Carrie was shaking now.
' Don't act stupid Carrie....god I can't believe I was so stupid........I've put my daughters life at risk......I can't believe im so stupid.' Carrie looked back towards Elle, she didn't understand how she was in danger.
'Kelly Elle's fine...she's safe here.' Kelly shook her head as she picked up her backs.
'No...No she's not.......I remember Carrie.' Kelly was shouting now. ' I remember how I ended up in hospital......I remember everything you did to me.' Carrie stood in shock as Kelly threw the bags into the back of the car.
