The Secrets Between us

And this is Kelly's brother in law......."Kelly just stood in her mothers living room stunned at what she was witnessing. At this moment in time Jeanne was leading Carrie by the hand around the room introducing her to all of Kelly's family. Kelly giggled at the frozen look on carrie's face, not only was the older woman showing her girlfriend off to the whole family she had already showed the two singers where they would sleep, in the same bed. Kelly almost fainted when her mother gave out the sleeping arrangments.although she was quick to tell the pair that she was sleeping in the next room, kind of put a damper on any plans Kelly had in mind for the mind.



"hey you..."Kelly felt Carrie slide up beside her by the living room door."your family are great kel......everyone has been so nice."



"give it a day or two and you will be running for the hills...."



"hey.....be nice.....they didn't have to be this nice.....they could have hated me."



"I know I know......they are great."Kelly looked around at her family all enjoying being together,she really was amazed at how well they all had taken it. Jeanne had sat them all down to tell them the news before the singers arrived.so by the time the pair arrived everyone was in the loop about what was happening."hey hows your stomach now.......still sore?"



"still a little sensitive.......sorry I throw up on your shoes this morning...."Kelly laughed rubbing her hand over carrie's back.



"that's OK baby.....but you could have told me you didn't like the shoes....I would have changed them."



"next time ill aim for the toilet."



"lets not have a next time..... I hate seeing you sick."



"your sick Carrie?"both Kelly and Carrie jumped hearing her mothers voice behind them.



"god mom way to sneak up....and yes carrie's been sick for a few days."



"Kelly didn't cook for you did she?"Carrie smiled shaking her head.



"I learnt that lesson a long time ago Jeanne......I think its just a bug ive caught....probably all that hotel food ive been eating."



"well dear be prepared for home cooked meals all week....in the mean time why don't you take a nap..... you both must be tired for travelling......."



"great idea mom."Kelly sounded a little to happy about that idea.



"I mean nap missy nothing else..... don't make me send your sister up there after you."Carrie couldn't help laugh at Kelly's red face after her mothers comment. Jeanne had some great ways of ruining the moment.

"well that's a first.......ive never went to bed with you and actually taken a nap without anything happening first.....have we turned into a boring married couple....cause that just wont do. Carrie just rolled her eyes at Kelly she was still to tired from just waking up to play along with Kelly's little jokes.



"I smell dinner.......we must have slept for hours.........we really must hav......oh god............."with that Carrie was out the bed and into the bathroom without Kelly even seeing her leave the bed.



"baby?" Kelly walked in behind Carrie seeing the young singer bent over the toilet emptying her stomach."oh honey I think you need a doctor......it could be food poison."



"its not."



"but you don't know till you...."



"Kelly its not....... OK!....... I know what's wrong.....ive known what's wrong since yesterday..Carrie pushed herself up from the toilet running the cold water and splashing her face. she looked Kelly through the mirror. Kelly hadn't said anything she just watched the young blonde."I pregnant Kelly...... I took a test yesterday while you were out with Ashley."



"the guy......him right?"



"yeah him...."There wasn't much else to say,no words Carrie said would help Kelly at this moment. it was best to shut up and let the young Texan lead the conversation. Kelly turned and walked away from Carrie back into the bedroom,Carrie stayed cleaning herself up before following her.she found her sitting on the bed looking at her hands,tears falling freely down her face.



"i thought you were sick..... i thought it was a bug......"Carrie sat next to her leaving a small space between them,she didn't want to crowd the young Texan after getting news like this.



"me too but im pregnant....its a baby.....im having a baby.......and im so scared."Carrie put her head in her hands letting her hair fall around her. Kelly looked down at her girlfriend wiping her tears away she closed the space between them pulling carrie's body to her's.



"why are you scared."Carrie sat up looking at Kelly.



"Why......im pregnant....pregnant with a strangers baby.........."



"yeah ok stupid question......I shouldn't have asked........are...ar...are you telling the father."



"oh god no..."Carrie stood up walking over to the window."as far as im concerned that night never happened."



"Carrie your pregnant.......you cant hide from that night..... it happened......and now your paying the price for it."



"your saying this is my punishment for cheating on you..."



"no car....I didn't mean it like that..... its just......god I don't know...what the hell am I supposed to say...hey my girlfriends pregnant lets have a party........this is to much..... I need to think......."Kelly walked towards the door turning to look at Carrie one last time."ill see you at dinner."with that she closed the door leaving Carrie alone.

Kelly really didn't know what to do,things were so perfect between them and now this.kelly sat in the back garden at the bottom of her old tree house her step father built her when she was 8.she wished she could go back to that time, the simple time without relationships and the only love she had was from her parents.



"finally dragged yourself away...."Kelly looked up to see her mother walking towards her."where's Carrie?"



"upstairs shes getting ready for dinner."



"you OK honey.......you've got that look in your eyes......"



"what look?"



"that life isnt fair look......what happened......you have a fight?"



"carrie's pregnant" Kelly was more shocked that she let those words fall out her mouth than her mother was to hearing them.



"KELLY!"



"I didn't do it"



"can you kids just be normal....my god Kelly if your trying to get me angry your going the right way for it to happen......how did this happen...."



"there was a guy before we got back together....a one off......."



"and what do you plan to do about this......."



"what can I do.......its happened now."



"so you and Carrie are over?"



"what....I ...ive not thought about that?"



"well think about it......three weeks ago you both told me how madly in love you are and now you don't know if your breaking up or not..."



"I need time for this to settle in mom............this changes everything....."



"Kelly Jeanne....dinners out."both woman looked up to see Carrie standing at the back door.



"think about what you want Kelly ......no one else OK."Jeanne left Kelly sitting as she walked up to Carrie gently holding the girls shoulder she guided her back into the house for dinner.
