Baby Can I Hold You

Carrie had to think fast, Kelly was placing herself into the drivers seat. The keys were still in the car, she knew Kelly would drive off. Seeing the gates at the end of the drive Carrie pushed the remote control that was next to the back door. The gates closed with a bang and locked.



'Are you serious' Kelly called from the car. 'Carrie if you don't let me out now im calling the police.' Carrie shook her head walking towards the car.



'Call them all you want Kelly but im not letting you leave like this....Your scaring Elle.' Kelly jumped out the car.



'That's rich coming from you...All those nights you would beat me...you don't think that scared her?' Carrie walked backwards, she didn't want be near Kelly when she was like this.



'You've got it wrong......I've never hurt you....I would never hurt you.' Carrie walked towards the car, she could see Elle crying from her car seat.



'Mommy still sick Auntie Carrie?' Elle tried her best not to show Carrie she was crying.



'It's OK baby....mommys just a little mixed up.' Carrie tried to pick Elle up from her car seat but was stopped by Kelly.



'Don't put ideas into her head.....Come here baby.' Kelly held the crying child close to her as she made her way towards the house. 'You've got five minutes to open those gates Carrie or im driving throw them. Carrie watched as she carried Elle into the house. Pulling out her phone she could only think of one person that could help.





Kelly paced back and forth with Elle still in her arms, the young girl had stopped crying.



'Baby Mommys so sorry she brought you here.....I promise we'll get out of here soon.' Elle struggled out of her mothers arms.



'No I don't want to leave........You shouted at Auntie Carrie........I don't want to leave here.....You leave if you want but im staying with Auntie Carrie.' Kelly looked up to find Carrie at the door watching them.



'Happy now?.....You've turned my daughter against me' Carrie made her way into the room and towards Elle.



'Go get ready for bed baby...' Elle nodded leaving Kelly and Carrie alone.



'She's not staying here.......Soon as you fall asleep we're out of here.'



'No ones going anywhere Kelly.........Look I don't know what your remembering but it's mixed up OK.......I've never hurt you....Ive never even raised my voice at you.'



'I remember Carrie....I remember you dragging me by my hair into our bedroom.' Carrie knelt down till she was in front of Kelly.



'We didn't have a bedroom until now........you remember being hit?......Is it my face you see?.....am I there?' Kelly tried to think,everything was blurry.



'I remember you in the kitchen with me......then im at the top if the stairs being pulled into the bedroom......You were the only one in the house.' Carrie tried to hold Kelly's hand but she moved it again.



'Don't'



'OK I won't' Carrie sighed. She didn't know if she should call a doctor.



'I remember other times too......It's always dark your always punishing me for doing something wrong'



'Stop saying that please.' Carrie pleaded. 'Stop saying I've hurt you.....i swear on everything I own ive never hurt you.'



'You would say that......I bet you were happy when I lost my memory......So no one found out about you.' Kelly was on her feet again.



'Kelly if you really think I beat you...if you really believe it then why aren't I doing it now......Why aren't I angry at you?'



'Cause you know I'll scream....i won't take it anymore' Kelly said smuggly.



'And who's going to hear you.' Carrie threw her hands in the air. ' Our neighbors are three miles away' Carrie could have kicked herself the moment the words came out her mouth. ' I didn't mean it like that.' Kelly walked backwards towards the living room door.



'So that was your plan....get me here so no one can hear you beat me?'



'What no....Kelly I didn't mean it like that.' Carrie let out a long sigh. 'Your confusing me'



'Im confusing you?... just think how I've felt the past two weeks.' Kelly watched Carrie rub her hands over her face, she really didn't look dangerous but she remembered. She just couldn't understand why she loved her so much, how could she love someone that hurt her.



'Kelly please....lets just sleep on this and tomorrow we can sort it out'



'I'm not sharing a bed with you'



'That's fine...theres plenty of room.'



'I'm sleeping in Elle's bed'



'OK' Carrie agreed.



'And im putting something at the door so you can't get in'



'OK' Both walked silently up the stairs towards Elle's room,the little girl was sitting quietly on her bed.



'Everything OK now?....mommy;s head OK again?'



' Every things OK baby' Kelly stopped Carrie at the door.



'Don't lie to my daughter'



'Let me say goodnight to her.' Kelly nodded letting Carrie into the room.



'You and mommy are going to have a sleep over OK?' Elle nodded. 'And tomorrow I can make you breakfast OK' she nodded again. Leaving a small kiss on Elle's head Carrie stood up again walking back towards the door where Kelly was. She really wanted to kiss her good night but knew that would never happy.



'Night' Kelly said coldly.



'Night Kelly....I'll see you in the morning' Carrie waited till Kelly nodded before leaving the room. The door was shut and locked before Carrie got to her own room. Stripping off her clothes Carrie crawled numbly into bed. Her head was banging, her heart was aching. She didn't know what tomorrow would bring, to afraid to sleep she lay in the door trying to imagine Kelly was laying next to her.
