Chapter 26
Dinner was awful Kelly didn't speak and everyone directed their questions towards Carrie. All of them wanting to know about the new girl, all Carrie wanted to do was end it and get out of there. Thankfully Kelly saved her telling everyone they were going upstairs to go over some new songs. No one believed them but it got them out of the room.
"thanks for getting me out of there Kel.....I was starting to feel a little crazed.."
"well I told you it would happen....."Kelly had already changed into her night clothes and was in bed before Carrie had finished brushing her teeth."night Car."
"we aren't going to talk?"Carrie got into bed beside Kelly.
"nothing to say.....night"Kelly left Carrie alone in the dark as she lay beside her pretending to sleep.

"Mrs Underwood?......hi I'm Kelly Clarkson's mother Jeanne........yes nice to finally talk to you too."Jeanne at the moment was in her room calling Carries mother.she knew Kelly would kill her but she hated seeing the young blonde without the support she needed,there was only so much she could do. She had to look out for her own daughter,Carrie needed to be looked after too. After a long conversation Jeanne had caught carries mother up on what was happening in their kids life's,at the end of the conversation Mrs Underwood hung up without saying much but promising to take an early flight out to visit her daughter.

Kelly didn't know when she fell asleep but she was woken by the bathroom light shining in her eyes. Hearing the sounds of Carrie in the bathroom Kelly lay wondering if she should go in and see if she was ok. After hearing a sob coming from Carrie Kelly quickly went to the bathroom getting on her knees beside her girlfriend.
"you shouldn't have ate the damn dinner.....I knew this would happen."
"I didn't want to be rude....your mother went to a lot of trouble.........you told her didn't you."
"yeah it slipped out....how'd you know."
"she was giving me sad looks all night.....like I had messed up my whole life."
"you've not messed up your life car.....this is just a difficult time......in 5 years from now your going to look back and wonder why you were so crazed about this......."
"will you be here in 5 years?"the sadness in carrie's voice broke Kelly's heart.
"we cant promise things right now car.......its not the right time......ask me again later.....OK?."Carrie simply nodded. getting up she made her way back to bed followed by Kelly.
"night kel."
"are you keeping it?"Carrie turned to her side seeing Kelly laying on her back looking towards the ceiling.
"I have to Kel......I couldn't live with myself if I didn't."
"I understand....... I would feel the same way."
"night Kel"
