This is a work of fiction. I do not know Johnny Depp. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
The Happy Little Lamb
They had spent a half hour or so discussing her book, along with other recent publications.
"So I take it you are here alone.." Johnny asked.
"Yeah. My publicist was around earlier. But she left about an hour before the end of the book signing. She lives in town here."
"No husband or boyfriend to come with you?"
She shifted in her seat.
"No. I'm...not involved at the moment."
He raised an eyebrow. "I find that hard to believe..."
"Me too. This is gonna sound so big-headed...but you would think with all this publicity I've gotten lately I might be doing a little better on the relationship front. I haven't been in a relationship for almost 3 years. Fuck, I haven't even had a date in that long." She took a large gulp of her drink to ease her dry throat. "But to be honest, as you say I am, I think it's a blessing I haven't been mobbed by any men. If I did, there would always be that thought in the back of mind."
"Is he into me or my name?" Johnny said.
"Yeah. I'm sure you know your fair share about that."
"I most certainly do. I get marriage proposals at least once a week. Pubic hair in the mail is also a regular."
She scratched her nose again. She was tempted to ask him about his personal life. But this was Johnny Depp. The man that has trashed hotel rooms and attached the paparazzi. She decided against it. But to her surprise, he started talking about it.
"I'm in the same boat as you I'm afraid," he sighed.
"You mean to tell me...you're single? No, now see that I find hard to believe.
"The last woman I was involved with was Kate. That was about 4 years ago..."
His words were fading. Celeste was trying to listen, but all she could hear was the gentle song of open winds. Behind him, she began to see a large open meadow full of brightly colored flowers appearing out of thin air. And look! There she was! Frolicking in that field, like a happy little lamb. Her hair in pigtails now, sporting a lovely spring time dress. She reminded herself of Julie Andrews, twirling about in that field. She half expected herself to start belting out show-tunes when suddenly he appeared. He was wearing a white dress shirt, complete with belled sleeves, that hung open exposing a hairless chest. She saw herself skip to him, then practically pouncing on top of him, the two rolling in the daisies like dogs in heat. The front of her dress flew open, displaying her breasts for all to see. She watched as two beautiful hands reached up from the grass and cupped them.
"Jesus fucking Christ, how cheesy is that?", she thought to herself." But I'd give my right arm for it..."
"...so yeah, it was excruciating," he finished.
She hadn't heard a word he said but she nodded her head as though she had. There was a pregnant silence then. "Can I ask you something? Why have you shared such personal details with me? I don't mind, I'm flattered really, but I always thought you were a very private person."
He studied her for a moment. "Honestly? I have no idea. You shared a personal thing with me, I guess I felt I should with you. You don't come off as much of a gossip to me, anyway."
She grinned. "No. I'm too afraid too. Bad Karma." She glanced at her watch.
"Am I keeping you from something?"
"No..well. I just realized that it's late and I have no idea where my hotel is. I haven't checked in yet." She handed him a slip of paper from her purse.
"I know exactly where this is...."
He wrote out directions for her and the two left the club and headed back down toward the bookstore. She didn't want the night to ever end, but it was nearly midnight now and she had a very early call the next morning.
"I had a very nice time. One of the highlights of my year I daresay," she smiled.
"Thank you for agreeing to come with me. I was afraid you'd say no."
"What? Who would turn down an invitation from Captain Jack Sparrow?" she laughed. "Well...thanks for the directions. It was nice meeting you," she said, extending her hand.
"Same to you," he said, shaking it. "Well have to do it again sometime. Good night." She smiled and climbed into her car, watching him walk away, disappearing around the corner.
She found her hotel with ease. "Miss McGee, ah yes. Here is your key. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call. Oh yes, there is a message for you," the clerk said, handing her a note. She thanked him and headed to her room , tired yet excited, and completely horny. She dropped her luggage on the floor, plopped down the bed and reached for the note the clerk had given her. She read it three times to make sure she wasn't imagining the words.
"Well I'll be damned..." she said outloud, setting the message from Johnny on the night stand. "I'll call him in the morning...I've got business to attend to."
And with that she opened her playlist on her laptop, changed into her pajamas and turned the lights out, a well rested hand and a over active mind to lead her into the night.
