No kiss goodnight

CHAPTER 3 After we danced we ordered one more drink and then headed off to bed. He walked me to my room and thanked me for spending a little time with him. Saying it was nice to just enjoy ourselves together for once and that he hoped we could do it again soon. I told him that I would love to. I walked into my room on cloud 9, kicked off my shoes and let my hair down. Just as I started to undress there was a knock at the door. "Hi," he said. "You think I could come in and talk with you for a little while?" I smile and immediately invite him in. Of all the things going through my mind talking was not one of them. He sits down on the sofa and remarks "Your room is better then mind." "How so," I ask? "Your couch, I like the couch." We both laugh. He is such a geek, I think. But I like it! The next morning I awake to a ringing phone. It’s 6 am and the director. He’s pissed because his star had not arrived. I go into the living room and who sprawled across the sofa that he loves so much Mr. Diesel. I shove him awake and ask him if there is somewhere he needs to be, clock in hand. He jumps up and runs out of the room, only slowing down long enough to say gooe. Te. The thought of the evening before gave me the warmest feeling inside. Last night we talked about everything from where we were born to where we wanted to be buried. He is so funny. He kept me laughing all night. I just couldn’t hold the excitement I had to call my best friend back home. Who just happens to be the only person who knows about my crush. My best-friend Angie and I had practically known each other all our lives. We grew up in the same neighborhood. Went to the same elementary school and college. She had been a great influence on me all my life. My first real friend. A confidant. Always giving me a push when I felt I had nothing else to give. Comforted me when my heart was broken and hit the dance floor with me when it was time to party. She was the only friend who could tell me off and still get a call the next day. We shocked people when we told them "we’ve known each other since we were sperm," because they just didn’t get it. But we did and that was what was important. She was like my twin sister from another mother. We were identical with our own language. We spend a couple of minute doing more screaming than talking and agree to meet for lunch when my plane arrives. I get packed and dressed in record time. I check out and make it te gae gate for the last boarding call. I was so very tired I plopped into my seat gasping for air. My cell phone rings and it’s him. "Hey, I was just calling to thank you for this morning," he says. "Anytime, after all, it what to pay me for," I reply. "Right. Have a safe trip home and I will see you soon. Bye."
