The Secrets Between us

Kelly sat quietly looking out the kitchen window enjoying the peace. Her mother had left for a week long trip to visit her sister leaving her and Carrie alone for the first time in month's. This would usually be a great thing but with everything that was going on Kelly needed all the help she could get.



"ok....so you realize I’m your makeup artist and not your maid right." Kelly smiled watching Ashley enter the kitchen hands filled with bags of food."



"I’m aware of that I am.....its just with my mom gone I cant leave Carrie alone."



"I know I know.....I’m joking."Ashley smiled watching Kelly relax a little more.



"Get everything?"



"Everything on the list. milk........bread.....lots of chocolate.........Fruit and im in love with your brother......."Kelly looked up really not believing what Ashley had just said. She watched her friend make herself busy with putting away the food acting like she hadnt just let out a secret.



"how long" Kelly kept her eyes fixed on Ashley waiting for her friend to answer.



"about two years ."



"and what does he think."



" like he care.....hes to busy touring around Texan on a bike with his friends to give a damn about me." Kelly could hear the hurt in Ashley's voice, she hadn’t turned round yet so Kelly couldn’t see her face.



"were you together.....are you together.?"



"god kel i dont know." Ashley turned finally facing Kelly.



"hes stringing you along?"



"eh...yeah.....Kelly why aren’t you screaming at me.....im in love with your brother we have been sneaking around for two years....why are you so calm." Kelly gave her friend a puzzled look.



"im trying a new calm approach to life......you know ive got two kids coming soon.....i cant act like a crazy woman all the time."Ashley smiled she knew her friend would take on this new addition to her life.



"your not mad?"



"oh im mad.....mad at Jason for doing this to you......but all that can wait....im glad you told me." Kelly wrapped her arms around her friends neck pulling her into a hug.



"thanks Kell."



"is this love fest over....cause i need to pee." Ashley jumped out of Kelly’s arms looking frantically around the room forCcarrie.



"where the hell is she coming from." Kelly laughed watching her friend look round corners for Carrie to appear.



"Kelly seriously gotta pee here."



"where is she." Ashley was now looking in cupboards.



"shes here...."Kelly held up a baby monitor waving it in front of Ashleys face. "we were testing them out earlier i must have forgot to turn it off.......and little miss nosey didn’t inform us she could hear our private conversation. "Kelly directed the last part into the baby monitor.



"oh please.....you would have told me all she said the minute she left.......Ashley the girl cant keep a secret. "with that Kelly turned off the baby monitor leaving Carrie to talk to herself.



"bet you wish you could do that more often."Ashley laughed as she watched Kelly turn to her shocked.



"thats the woman i love i would never want to do that."



"not even a little.?"



"KELLYYYYYY" both girls jumped hearing Carrie.



"ok maybe a little.......but don’t tell her that. "Kelly left Ashley laughing in the kitchen as she followed the shouts of her girlfriend up the stairs.
