A Child's Mind Is A Fasinating Thing
Coming To Terms
Okay, you guys were
determined so I had to update quickly so here’s the next chappy. I apologise for the shortness but there will be a long chappy next truly explaining Gerard’s reasons for his condition. If you guys have any ideas as to anything that could contribute please add it to any reviews you send me. I have an idea for the main factor but I’d like it to be a combination factors built up over many years.
“No! I won’t do it Frank! He’s not ready...and neither are they!”
“Mikey. They could be the only chance we have of getting Gerard out of there!”
Mikey stopped pacing the front room for a moment and stared at Frank, long and hard. “What if...?”
Frank cut him off. “Mikey. You can keep focusing on the ‘what if’s but every moment you do is another moment Gerard has to spend in that awful place where they’re doing god knows what to him.”
Mikey sighed, running a hand through his messed up hair. “I know. You’re right.”
Frank nodded. “If you want I could get them to come here and we can tell them together?” Mikey just nodded his agreement.

“I want him to have another course of E.C.T.” Dr. Barker told the two nurses firmly. “I feel it’s helped him a lot.”
The nurses just accepted what he was telling them and he was glad of that. If they asked questions it meant they might discover what was truly going on, behind closed door as it were.
“Do you want us to administer his meds for today then.” One of the nurses asked.
“Yes. Oh and do me a favour and shave back the hair from his temples, it could be detrimental to the effectiveness of the treatment if it’s in the way.” Karen overheard all of this and shook her head, part of her knew this was wrong but she just didn’t know how to help.

*Ray’s POV*
“Any idea what this is about?” I asked Bob as we walked up the driveway to Frank’s front door.
“It’s Frank.” Bob replied. “It could be anything.”
I laughed, my dark curls obscuring my vision for a second. “Touché.”
I knocked but when Mikey answered the door I got a little worried. He looked terrible. His hair was messed up, he had large bags under his eyes from little or no sleep. He ushered us in to where Frank was waiting for us, with 4 mugs of steaming coffee on the table. I had a really bad feeling about this.
“Where’s Gerard?” Bob asked, sitting on the sofa.
“That’s kind of what we wanted to talk to you about.” Frank said. Okay, major alarm bells going off now.
“I need your help.” Mikey looked so pleading.
“Has Gerard started drinking again?” Nice use of subtly there Bob.
“No.” Frank shook his head violently. “It’s nothing like that.” There was a short pause. “Okay, this could take a while.”
“Gerard...he’s sick...” Mikey spoke for the first time.
“Yeah we know Mikers. You told us…like 4 weeks ago.”
“Well...I...I wasn’t exactly accurate before. Gerard has been institutionalised.” The grip on my mug tightened. They couldn’t be serious.
“What happened?”
Mikey started to explain what he knew of Gerard’s condition and how he got there in the first place. However, there was a reason behind Gerard’s condition; it wasn’t as sudden as they thought. However, the only one with all the answers was trapped in the frame of mind of a child. Barriers set up just to protect himself, shield himself from the past.
