Baby Can I Hold You

'I'm telling you she's a complete bitch...the whole ride up she was going on and on' Carrie lay on the bed as she watched Ashley walk around putting her clothes away.



'So we don't like her?'



'That's the rules' Kelly said. ' if one of us doesn't like someone we all don't like her..right Ashley'



'Right Kelly.'



'Wrong Ashley.' Kelly scolded. ' Lets give the poor girl a chance....she must be nervous meeting her new boyfriends family....so lets all try to behave OK?' Kelly stood up walking into the bathroom leaving Carrie and Ashley to sit on the bed.



'oh She told you.' Carrie giggled.



'Oh shut up. two minutes with her and you'll hate her too.'



'And risk Kelly shouting at me...no thank you I'll pretend to like her.'

'Oh Kelly he's so much like Elle was.' Jeanne gushed as they all sat around looking down at the baby.



'Carrie said that.' Kelly commented. Carrie smiled as she watched her girlfriend fuss over the little sleeping boy that was right now unaware of what he was causing. She didn't know new born babies could cause so much happiness around adults, even Jason's miserable looking girlfriend was throwing a smile or two the babies way.



'Look everyone I drew this.' Elle came running into the room in her using loud way.



'Shh....Elle the baby is sleeping' Carrie watched as Jeanne scolded the little girl. After waiting a few seconds Elle turned around and walked back out the room, no one seemed to notice apart from Kelly and Carrie. Pulling her girlfriend up onto her feet Carrie lead them both to Elle's bedroom.



'You say something about a picture sweetie?' Kelly walked into the room first noticing her daughter sitting on the floor of her room.



'It's nothing mommy.' Elle whispered before going back to her drawings.



'Course it's not something' Carrie added as she sat down next to her, joining them Kelly sat at the other side of her daughter. 'what is it?'



'It's a picture of the baby'



'Can I see it' carrie asked gently. Holding it up for Carrie to see Elle whispered.



'Here mommy.' Carrie stopped and looked at Elle before looking at Kelly.



'Did you just call me mommy?' she asked.



'Yep...' Elle looked back down to the floor shyly.



'You haven't called me mommy before.' Kelly watched on as her girlfriend began to cry. Elle looked up when she heard her.



'I didn't mean to...I wont do it again' She said hurriedly.



'No. no ' Kelly rubbed her girlfriends back.' I think these are happy tears baby.'



'They are?' Carrie nodded still unable to talk.



'So it's OK for you to be my mommy?' Elle asked while looking at Kelly for approval .



'Only if you'll say it again.' Carrie added.



'Mommy'



'Again'



'Mommy' Elle said it a little louder this time.



'Again'



Mommy...mommy ....mommy' Elle repeated as she threw herself on top of carrie knocking her backwards. Kelly watched on Carrie left kisses around her daughters face.



'That's my favourite word now' Carrie giggled. Kelly could feel her own tears coming as she watched them rolling around giggling with each other. She knew at that moment that no matter what was to happen to them, that Carrie would always be there loving and supporting them.

'Think they'll notice we've gone?' Carrie buckled up her seat belt as she started up the car.



'Only when they want food.....i lift a note on the kitchen table' Carrie nodded before looking into the mirror at Elle.



'Know what you want to buy?'



'Everything?' Elle asked.



'Try again' Kelly commented.



'OK....I'd like a swing first' Elle held up her hand. ' And a climbing frame....and maybe we could buy the tree house...don't think it will fit in the car though.' Elle sat in the back thinking about other things she could buy.



'I think we made a mistake telling her we could buy some garden toys today' Kelly whispered as the park the car.



'She looked so sad.......i didn;t want her feeling left out' Carrie had noticed Elle being ignored by everyone when they saw the new baby.



'This will cost us.....in fact im sure we could even buy a new house.' Carrie got out of the car taking Elle with her, she smiled at Kelly's words but she was to busy looking around. She didnt' want to tell Kelly of her fears of Paul being around any corner but the thought was going threw her mind. Taking a hold of her girlfriends hand car scanned the car park one more time before following Elle into the store, listening to the little blonde and her big plans.
