Baby Can I Hold You

'And what the hells got you so happy?' Ashley sat at the kitchen table hugging her cup of coffee close to her.



'nothing...life is good....everything is nice...we're all healthy.....surrounded by the ones we love....life good.' Kelly smiled across at her friend as she took a sip of her coffee. Kelly and Ashley sat together while everyone else still lay sleeping.



'You had sex' It wasn't a question but a statement. ' You finally did it.' Ashley sat smiling as she watched her best friend turn all shades of red.



'Well...' Kelly smiled.' I really want to sound classy and be respectable.....'



'But you want to brag?' Ashley asked.



'Totally.....'



'So do it' Ashley sat back watching as Kelly tried to find the words.



'I've never....I've just...never felt anything like it.' Kelly sat back.



'Yea OK if this is you bragging then it couldn't have been that good.....I've got more information out of Jason during a football game.'



'Oh it was good....nothing before this was sex......there should be a whole new word made up for what we did last night.....everything before her was just nothing.' Ashley smiled at her friend.



'You talk like you've been around a lot.'



'No Ash....you don't understand.....what she did...well, it's opened up this thing in me......ive never felt so alive in my life.'



'Alive about what dear?' Jeanne walked into the kitchen holding the small bundle in her arms.



'Just slept really well last night.....better than I have in a while.' Jeanne smiled handing the baby over to Ashley while she poured herself some coffee.



'That's good dear....with all the moaning coming from your room...it took me quite a while to get into a good sleep.' Kelly's mouth opened but nothing came out, she looked to Ashley for help but she was to busy hiding behind the baby.

'Good morning everyone' Carrie came cheerfully into the kitchen, she was the last to wake up with everyone else already eaten.



'Morning mommy' Elle sat smiling from the table, calling Carrie mommy was still new and the little girl was using it when ever she could.



'Morning my baby.' Carrie leant down kissing Elle on the head before reaching over and doing the same to Kelly. 'Morning my other baby.'



'And I don't have to ask you why your so happy.' Ashley whispered into her coffee cup.



'You can ask if you want....but I wont tell.' Carrie teased. Ashley shrugged.



'To bad your girlfriends got a big mouth and already bragged this morning.' Kelly smiled up at her girlfriend trying her hardest to make her ignore Ashley.



'Carrie...your mother's here' Jeanne stood by the kitchen door beckoning for Carrie.



'And the show begins' Leaving one last kiss on Kelly's head Carrie went to face the hurricane that was her mother.

'Another child?.....Carrie your really not making life easy for yourself.' Carrie sat on the bed watching her mother unpack, her sister sitting beside her.



'Mother there is nothing I could do about this.....'



'Carrie how long will you spend cleaning up this man's mess...your already raising one of his kids......your going to raise the other one too?'



'Mother why did you come here if your just going to cause trouble.....you know I don't really need this right now.' Carrie stood watching her mother.



'In three month's you go from being a single woman....to a wife and mother of two....honey all this is to fast.' Carrie turned to her sister.



'What about you ....you agree with her?'



'Carrie...mom's just worried....'



'You know what stop......if your here to express your opinion just stop.......I already know im not living the life you all want......if you had your way I would be married with kids right now......and ironically I am.......I may not be married to Kelly but it's the next best thing....just because she isn't a man ....that's your problem....me being gay has always been the problem......now if you both can't accept that then just take those clothes back out the drawers and leave.' Carrie sat back down when she heard the bedroom door open.



'Mommy....mom wants to know if you all want lunch?' Elle stood gripping onto the door.



'We'll be down in a minute baby.' Carrie smiled at her daughter.



'Ok.....grandma I'll save you a seat next to me.' Carrie watched her mother stare at the closed door as Elle left.



'Mommy?.....Grandma?'



'Yes mom.......she calls me mommy......and since your my mother her little four year old heart believes that your her grandma.......'



'Carrie we can't...'



'Mother.' Carrie interrupted. ' You will not come into this house and upset my family.......so you either accept Elle as your granddaughter or you walk right out the door and don't come back.........But you will respect my family.' Carrie left before her mother could say anything, walking into the kitchen she took her place next to Kelly at the table. Looking over at the empty space next to Elle and the smile on the little girls face she prayed her mother made the right choice.
