Baby Can I Hold You

'Right...all the wine and beer is hidden......Everyone has been shipped off to the other house and Elle is sitting nice and quiet watching a dvd..........when did she say she would be here?' Carrie fixed herself in the mirror.



'' 11:30am.........You think she'll like us?.....what if she isn't a fan?'



'Kelly's she's not here to listen to our latest songs....just be yourself and she'll love you.' Carrie ran her hand through her hair.



'I know....it's just so formal....I hate these kinds of things.' Hearing the door bell Kelly let out a little moan.



'Come on.....fast we let her in the fast she leaves.' Pushing her girlfriend into the living room Carrie went to answer the door.



Question after question was thrown their way, as both girls tried their bests to answer them. Elle for her part was cute and sweet and well behaved, Carrie knew she would have to buy her something expensive for her trouble, the little girl was being far to nice.



'So Joseph seems to be happy....you both know what your doing.' The social worker smiled at Elle. ' and I see he has a very good babysitter'



'I know he's only been with us for a day...but we really love having him here and....' The social worker help up her hand telling Kelly to be quiet.



'I can see you all love having him here......Jen told me you would be good for him........but this is a long process and today was only to see if he was in any danger and should be moved today......I can't see he's not so I'll let him stay.....but ill be back in a week or two for more interviews, until then you can both relax.' The lady closed her book before standing.



'Right sorry...I get a little excited at times' Kelly looked towards Carrie who was smiling behind the lady.



'Yes...well I;ll be seeing you soon.' Kelly closed the door after saying goodbye to the social working.



'What are you smiling at?' Kelly asked Carrie as she entered the living room again.



'You.' Carrie laughed.' I get a little excited.' Carrie tried her best Kelly impression.



'Shut up...I was nervous.' Carrie moved towards Kelly smiling.



'I know you were baby.....but you did good.' turning to Elle. ' you too missy...who knew you could be so polite.'



'I try' Elle shrugged.

'Why did we have to tell them to come back?' Carrie complained as she watched the cars pulling into the drive way.



'Cause their family and I promised them one nice family dinner before they all leave.'



'So they are leaving?' Carrie asked a little too excited.



'Yes im leaving.' Jeanne walked towards them. ' You have a really loud voice.'



'I do not.'



'Oh you do' Kelly added.



'I can be quiet.' Carrie complained.



'You can't.' Carrie turned to see her mother coming towards her. ' even when you were little you were loud.'



'This pick on Carrie day?'



'No' Jeanne shook her head. ' just for the hour...then we move on to Kelly.' Jeanne and Carolyn walked back into the house laughing.



'What the hell happened when they went away?' Kelly turned to Ashley.



'We bonded.' she whispered.



'Over what?'



'Over the fact that we all hate the new girlfriend.' Ashley pointed back to the car where Jason's new girlfriend sat pouting.



'What she do?'



'Insulted your mother.' Ashley pointed towards Kelly..' then insulted yours'



'Mine?' Carrie asked.



'Oh yes...and it was so good.....now we all think she's a bitch.' Ashley smiled as she walked passed them.



'Want to go to a hotel ?' Kelly asked. Carrie shook her head as Jason and Sophie approached.

'So he's my brother?' Elle sat on her bed looking at Joseph.



'Yes.....and someone wants us to take care of him.' Kelly watched her daughter try to understand.



'But who's his mommy?......you?' Elle asked Carrie.



'No no.....his mommy can't take care of him so she would like us to......what do you think?'



'I think he would like that......it's good having two mommy's' Elle smiled up at Kelly.



'You like having two mommy?' Kelly quizzed.



'Course...every one is happy.......no one shouts and you don't cry any more' Carrie watched as both Kelly an Elle's smiles left their faces.



'Yea..well I think Joseph will fit in good here.' Carrie tried to change the subject. She watched as they both had the same small smile on their faces .



'I think so too.' Elle added. 'But we have a boy now...how are we going to have girls sleep overs with a boy?'



'Well maybe we can teach him how to like girl things.' Kelly answered.



'Oh and we can teach him to be nice to girls like uncle Jason and not be bad like daddy was'



'You miss daddy' Kelly asked before Carrie could say anything.



'No....i like it better with mommy now...she doesn't hit me like daddy did.' Carrie felt her heart sink when she heard what Elle said.



'Daddy hit you?' Kelly moved towards her daughter taking her in her arms.



'Only when I was bad....But Mommy doesn't Hit me mom...i promise....'



'I know she doesn't baby.' Kelly kissed her daughters head. ' No one's going to hit you again.' Elle cuddled into Kelly as Carrie looked on. ' I want you to call the social working tomorrow.' she whispered to Carrie.' I want him reported for abuse.' Carrie nodded, she let Kelly lay down with Elle while she picked up Joseph and lay him down beside his big sister. Getting into the other side of the bed Carrie looked over at Kelly.



'He's not going to hurt anyone again.'



'promise.' Kelly whispered.



'Promise' Both woman watched as Elle and Joseph drifted off into a sleep, neither of them closed their eyes until they saw both kids sound asleep.
