"It's fine"
Deep in the moment Billie and Mike layed intertwined and rocking together naked. Lost in their actions they heard nothing but the sound of each others moans and groans.
If only they had been able to hear the sound of the key in the door.
Not until the door slammed open did either break eye contact. But once the bang hit Billie's ear, his eyes darted to the door to see his wife standing shocked as a deer in the head lights. She turned and ran from the room. Billie had never seen her run so fast in his life.
He threw Mike from his body and chased his wife. He caught Adrienne by the wrist just out side the door.
"Adriene wait"
Here eyes were glazed over and her breathing was erratic.
"It's fine" she said through grasps for air.
"80 no its not..."
"Its fine, its fine.." she said. She kept repeating this like it were the only thing she could think to say/
"No its not fine" he whimpered slowly coming to tears.
"It's fine Billie, I knew."
"You knew?"
"I always knew"
"you've always known?"
"Well I didnt know exactly who it was, but i had an inkling. I always thought it was Mike."
"80 im so sorry"
"Its fine.... "
"Stop saying that."
"What do you want me to say Billie? Ive known for years, im just glad its Mike and not some random guy you picked up in a bar, or worse a fan girl. Its fine, I understand. You've been with Mike a really long time. You get each other and I can't be with you every moment."
"Im so so sorry"
"Billie its fine. I knew, I just never expected to see it."
"It will never happen again"
After what felt like an eternity of nothig but Billie's cries and gasps, Adrienne broke the silence.
"Yes it will" she said, in a surprisingly calm tone. "Yes it will. you love him. and you love me too. But they're different loves."
"Please dont leave me" He said through outward tears.
"I wont leave you over this. I would never leave you."
"I dont deserve you"
"You've done nothing wrong. Its fine. Listen.. Im glad its Mike. Mike is a good guy. He loves you, and you love him, and its fine. I only came back to get our passes for the show. But i'll come back for them later. go back to Mike. Im sure he's scared. Go back to him now and i'll see you later."
"What are you telling me 80?"
"Im telling you its fine." She gathered the contents of her spilled purse, collected herself, and walked back down the hall the way she had came.
Billie stood in a state of shock before re-entering the room.
