Baby Can I Hold You

Kelly hadn't heard for Carrie since the night before when the talked after the show, it was now 6 pm and still no word. Carrie's management had called her to stay she would be arriving just after 5 pm, it only took 10 minutes to get from the airport to their house.



'Why isn't she here...' Elle stomped her foot once more as she looked up at her mother.



'I don't know but pouting wont help...' She wondered if she was that annoying when she was Elle's age, if so she really should call her mother and say sorry.



'We really need to get her a watch.......how can an adult not have a watch.' Kelly turned from the window to her daughter.



'And how come a little girl has so much to say?'



'Cause im your daughter.?' Elle smiled.



'Look why don't you go play on all those garden toys we got you........you've hardly been on them since you got them...'



'Don't want to.'



'Ok go play with Fluffy Bear.' Kelly looked over at the dog who was busy hiding under the table. since they had gotten the dog it had became clear it was easily annoyed by Elle and spent most of it times hiding from her.



'Don't want to....all he wants to do is sleep.' Kelly swore she could see a smile on the dogs face when Elle said she didn't want to play with it.



'OK play with Joey.....'Elle scrunched up her face.



'Don't mean to be rude...but that kid isn't really that much fun....and all he does is sleep too.'



'Well go draw something......build something....anything but stay here in front of me complaining.' Kelly tried her best not to channel her mother but she really was sounding like her.



'Fine I'll go draw mommy a picture........'Kelly waited till her daughter stomped up the stairs before turning back to the window. The house was so silent, she hadn't wanted to turn on the tv or radio cause all they could talk about was her and Carrie. Finally seeing the car swing into it's space,Kelly silently clapped so Elle wouldn't hear and made her way towards Carrie.



'Wow looking very Audrey Hepburn right now.' Kelly watched as Carrie got out the car wearing the biggest sunglasses she had seen. The hood of her coat covering her head and most of her face. ' Hiding from someone?' Kelly went to hug her girlfriend but was stopped.



'Don't ' Carrie moved to the side.



'What.?......what's wrong?'



'Nothing im just tried....it's been a long day.' Kelly stood by the car as Carrie entered the house and went straight upstairs. Kelly soon followed finding Carrie in the bathroom of their bedroom.



'Are you ok?'



'What...yea im fine.' Carrie kept her back to Kelly.



'Ok...Elle.'



'No Kelly don't' Carrie turned still wearing her glasses. ' Im too tired ......let her see me tomorrow.'



'Carrie what is it?' Kelly moved forward but again was stopped.



'Don't I said.......can't you just leave me alone.' Carrie walked out the bathroom.



'Take of your glasses Carrie.'



'Leave me alone'



'Take them off.'



' I said leave me alone.'



'Carrie take them off or I will.' Carrie turned.



'Why can't you just leave me alone.' carrie said as she slide her glasses off her face. She watched as Kelly covered her mouth, she watched as the tears came to her girlfriends eyes,she could feel her own tears coming.



'Carrie...what...what happened.'



' I wish you would just leave me alone.' Carrie whispered.



'Baby who did this?' Kelly walked slowly towards the bed as Carrie sat down.' what happened?



'Leave....leave me alone please' Carrie whispered. 'Please.' Kelly got on her knees in front of Carrie, lightly and as gently as she could she ran her hand over the bruises covering Carrie's face. 'Please...please....just leave me alone.' Carrie whispered one last time before completely breaking down in Kelly's arms.
