CHAPTER 8 While she was making out her guest list she made the suggestion that I bring Vin along. The problem was I was never going to ask him out but I would have liked for him to go with me. How would I ever get him to go without having actually asking him myself? I wouldn’t. I had to ask. Everyday I would beat around the bush about it until I got tired of Angie calling -me "Chicken." The next day I walk up to him and just spit it out. He said "Sure." I was such an idiot. All this time I had been holding back ae jue just said "Sure." Was it really that easy. I felt my confidence level rise a little. The Laperla might be coming out sooner then I thought. The party wasn’t a formal so just decided to wear something comfortable. I decided to where my hair down. I had my hair stylist straighten it out to cut down on the frizz. The evening of the party as I dressed I was very excited. We were going on our first date. I had just finished putting on my make-up when he rang my bell. He came in an waited for me to grab a jacket and we headed out. When we arrived there was already a crowd there. You could hear the music from outside the house. We walked in and Angie began giving me a good tongue lashing for being late with the ice she asked me to bring. I was trying to apologize but I really couldn’t get a word in. She takes Vin and I over and introduces us to her guy, Corey. He was a handsome guy, thin, and had the cutest baby face. He was the CEO of an investment firm and seemed to be crazy about Angie. Corey and Vin hit it off right away. It was a nice spring evening. Angie managed to keep most of her guests from asking for autographs and things like that, it was a pretty much work free evening for both of us and we needed it. We both went our separate ways after awhile. I was having a nice time but wanted to go out for some fresh air. I spotted Vin in the corner with Corey and some others talking what,....video games. Are these grown men or little boys. I hurried across the room and headed him off as he was heading upstairs. Garbed him by the hand and started pulling him out the door. As he came along he’s explaining to me that Corey challenged him to a game of football on the PS2 and he had to play. I promptly informed him that I wanted him to keep me company for a bit out on the porch. He wrapped himself around me. Looking down at me he said "You are so cute!" I started to blush. Then I said to him "You are so,...you know I don’t know what you are." Immediately he started laughing. "You don’t know what I am. That was a good one but I would have said something like;" and then he kissed me. My mind went blank. His lips were so soft as his tongue explored mine. Then he stopped and just walked away. I was just standing there eyes closed, mouth and everything else moist.
