Best Days Of Our Lives

Lol, how'd you like the summary? Pretty intriguing, huh? lol, soo just joking. i just always find it funny when people put stuff like that as summaries. idk. it's a fanfic. it's not like some great literary work. this isn't harry potter people, lol.
anyways, so if you've read my other fics, and haven't noticed yet, i am extremely ADD. Which tends to be a good thing for the rare few that like my fics because that means i started another one.
and idk, i've always like the idea of them in high school, it really puts a different twist on how'd they be without all the limelight and stuff, you know? i just never found one that took it where i wanted it to go. so, naturally, i decided to write one. lol, as my brother's favorite saying goes, "if at first you don't succeed, get the hell out of my way and let me do it." Lol, he's a character, and i'm rambling, so yea. first chapter's pretty short--i think this intro is actually longer than the chapter, lol--but just cause i want to make sure y'all are interested before i make a total fool out of myself, lol.

++++++++++++

Kelly cursed loudly as she looked at her clock on the side of her bed. She had twelve minutes to get to class, and it was a good ten minute walk. She jumped out of bed, tripping over the pair of shoes that were lying in the middle of the floor. She cursed once more, pushing herself back onto her feet and pulling on a t-shirt as she ran to the bathroom, brushing her teeth and pulling her hair back. This was the precise reason why she always showered at night, incase she didn't have time to in the morning. She looked at the clock hanging on the wall--9 minutes.

Kelly ran out the bathroom across the small apartment to the front door, before having to run right back around to grab her book bag out of her room. She threw it over her shoulder before racing out of the apartment without even bothering to lock the door. It's not like they had anything anybody would want to steal anyway.

She checked her watch every five seconds as she finally made it to the high school, completely out of breath as the tardy bell rang. She ran up the front steps and through the hall, sliding as she turned down another one. She hurried up the stairs, trying her best not to trip. She heard a tearing sound , and she said a silent prayer, asking that her booksack not break before she made it to the classroom.

Kelly smiled as she saw the door to her first hour class still open; she raced to it, sliding into the classroom before the teacher closed the door.

"I made it!" she said triumphantly, raising her hands in the air as she tried to catch her breath.

"Shoes," her best friend Ashley called out from her seat in the back of the class.

Kelly looked down at her bare feet, "Damn it."

There was a series of giggles from the other students who have grown accustomed to this morning routine.

"Kelly," the teacher fussed, struggling not to smile at the short girl before her that was still in her pajamas.

"Sorry," she apologized, looking at the teacher, noticing for the first time that there was someone else standing up in the front of the class besides the two of them.

The thin blonde gave Kelly a curious once over before turning away. Kelly frowned as she looked down, not seeing anything wrong with the way she was dressed.

"Kelly," Mrs. Glover, her teacher said patiently. "Take your seat please."

"Yes ma'am," she nodded, narrowing her eyes at the new girl as she took her seat next to Ashley in the back of the classroom.

"Like I was saying," Mrs. Glover said. "Everybody this is Carrie Underwood. She and her family just moved here from Oklahoma."

Kelly watched the blonde blush as she shifted back and forth from one foot to the other. Why teachers did this to new students, she would never know. All it did was put unwanted attention on the poor kid when all they really want is to just slip in unnoticed.

"Great," Ashley mumbled. "Just what we needed...another cheerleader."

Kelly giggled, taking in the new girl's appearance from the pink ribbon in her hair, to her pink sweater, her blue jean skirt, and her pink tennis shoes.

"Ah Kelly," Mrs. Glover smiled. "You are on student council, are you not?"

"Yep," she nodded.

"Good, then I'm sure you'll be thrilled to show Carrie here around our beautiful campus today. Help her get to her classes and such?"

"Thrilled?" Kelly asked as Ashley snickered behind her hand.

"Or would you rather spend the day in detention for being late for the second time this week?" she raised an eyebrow.

Kelly shook her head, this lady was good, "I'd be delighted to show her around Mrs. Glover."

"Wonderful," the teacher smiled before turning to Carrie to show her her seat.

Kelly punched Ashley in the arm.

"What the hell was that for?" Ashley asked, rubbing the sore spot.

"Laugh at me again," Kelly grinned. "I dare you."
