The Secrets Between us
"Oh you've got to be kidding me" Kelly couldn't believe he was doing this again she thought they had sorted out their differences at the beginning of the summer, but now sitting in Clive's office listening to him go on and on about his latest idea for her career that he hadn't let it go.
"Listen Kelly i know you think im out to get you but this is a great chance for you and i want you to take it" Clive sat confidently in his big leather chair knowning that Kelly would do as she was told this time.
Kelly didn't have a choice she knew she would have to cave this time,Sighing heavily she stood exiting his office without a goodbye.Ashley sat outside waiting hoping kelly to come with good news.She knew the minute she looked at her the good news wasn't coming.
"Well... what he want?"
"I'm not touring alone this year" Kelly walked to the door knowing Ashley would follow.
"Who did he pick for you kel?" Ashley knew her friend was looking forward to her new tour and wanted to do it her way this was just setting her back even more.Kelly didn't answer her instead she climbed into their waiting car outside the office building waiting to take them home,Ashley following loyally behind."Come on kelly tell me .... who did he pair you with?"
Kelly sighed putting her head in her hands as the car started up."Carrie Underwood. He wants me to tour with Carrie Underwood."
Kelly looked up suprised hearing Ashley giggle."Glad its entertaining you ash"
"Oh Kelly come on.....Your acting like hes sending you on tour with the devil.Whats so bad about Carrie, you told me she was good."Kelly turned her head away from ashley before anwering her, she didn't trust herself to lie to Ashley without giving anything away.
"Of course shes good,she won didn't she? .... i just dont think i should be touring with anyone.ive worked to damn hard to share the stage."Ashley could sense there was more in it that Kelly wasn't telling her.
"Well why dont you call her im sure you both could make this work and its another person to hang out with on the tour bus." Kelly smiled lightly at Ashleys attempt at making her feel better but she knew this would never be a good idea.To much had happened for this to ever work,If Ashley knew the truth she would be pushing Kelly into putting her foot down with Clive but Kelly couldn't risk Ashley knowing the truth.If anyone ever found out about what really happened monthes ago Kelly knew she would lose more than her friendship with Ashley but her family and career too.
